Humanities and Social Sciences is a strand offered to senior high school students under the Academics track.This strand designed for students who intend to take up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social-science related courses in college , it equip students with a wide range of discipline with the use of their experiences and skills into the investigation and inquiry of human situations by studying its behavior and social changes using empirical, analytical, and critical method techniques.
When I’m in junior high school my friend always asking me what strand I will choose I always says I want HUMSS then they ask me why I want this strand.Then I say I want this strand not because of the rumors that there is no math in grade 12, and not because they will only do essays,humss is not only about that. I choose humss eventhough it is flooded of paperworks/schoolworks and there is no chill time I’m not saying that this strand is difficult over all strand, because we all know that every strand have a different difficulties. I believe that strand can help me to lead my college course this strand can help me to boost my communication skills, enhance my self confident I believe this strand is suit for my personality.
In my own experience in this school year I will say that this strand is not easy I been experience lot of difficulties, I’ve been feel disappointed and being stressful I admit this strand is not easy that I was thought during 1st quarter I see many challenges that we need to overcome loaded of projects, assignment and output and it must be submitted during Monday out weekend was a stressful day we always cramming we are luck of sleep and we can have our rest day but after all of our hard work it’s work wee been get our prices all efforts paid off.
This strand help me a lot because of this I discovered my new in my self, maybe it is not easy but it will help you a lot in terms in communication skills.
Why I choose HUMSS
I choose HUMSS because it was highly recommended by my parents and friends. My course in college is associated in this track and also I want to conquer my fears and replace them with confidence.
I choose HUMSS because this strand will help me to enhance not only my ability to talk in front of many people but also to gain self confidence and to enhance my ability to connect and communicate with the audience. Iknow this strand will be hard for me because it’s more on public speaking, writing an essay, debating and reporting, and that is my biggest weakness, I’m not an introvert nut I’m not an extrovert person too. In humss you also have a freedom to express your thoughts and feelings. I know this strand is also hard but I’m willing to face my fears to gain knowledge. I want to prove my communication skills and right pronunciation as well.
This journey of mine be successful by God’s Grace.
